Contini has championed the civil rights of victims of police brutality

In 2009, two tourists were walking down South Beach when a Miami Beach police officer confronted them and then shot one in the head at point blank range with his hands raised in submission as he begged for his life. Shehada was unarmed when he was murdered. The Police Officer had been involved in a prior questionable shooting and months later was suspended and then resigned when he tested positive for drugs. The victim was Husien Shehada who the police officer suspected was a “terrorist” and alleged he was carrying an AK-47, which proved to be false. Contini Represented the Shehada family to achieve justice and was recognized for his defense of civil rights by ADC.

Florida Criminal Attorney John Castellano also cautioned this week that the Government Shutdown could result in unintended consequences to result in increased crime as crime support personnel are furloughed.
