Breaking News: Justice Department Announces $13 Billion Settlement With JPMorgan

If you and I committed all these acts of mortgage fraud we’d be indicted by the feds, criminally prosecuted and forced to defend against a frightening conviction and federal prison — but if you’re JP Morgan and you pony up $13 billion, you can buy your way out of a criminal indictment.

That’s your US Dept of Justice, and you don’t have to be a Florida criminal defense lawyer or federal criminal attorney like me to see how this proves the old tag lines, “justice for sale” or “innocent until proven broke.”
